Start of my travel with HTC Desire

Mumbai Airport : Its 9 pm and I am still waiting for take-off(actually its quite a wait still - we are number six in the take off sequence) in my flight AI101 originally scheduled for 8. Looking forward to meeting my wife after a gap of few days and starting on our road trip from Delhi to Mumbai. The aim is to get Dad's car to Mumbai.
While I wait, I think why not use the Blogger app I downloaded today to share the experience with my new phone - the HTC Desire, while I cover this journey from Mumbai to Delhi and back. It's an Android(www.android.com) based phone and cost me INR 22,000 from flipkart.com. I have been using it for the last three weeks and IMHO its quite a good one. Primarily because I get a free app for everything I can think of -its almost a laptop with these apps loaded.
The flight's taking off, will update over the next few days uas we go along. Quite easy to type if you keep the phone horizontal, otherwise its a bit irritating. Look out for auto complete. It works quite well.

There is always something interesting on an AI flight. They have said sorry so many times, it does not matter anymore. My co passenger got his food after I had finished mine. The hostess says she is trying to "organise". Dunno what.

Its the beginning of the new year, and I get to know that Ronnie's (anirbanmukherji.com) written a book. I think that's bound to be interesting, read some excerpts online and on my first trip post this knowledge to Delhi, buy one from Om Book Shop at South- Ex. It takes me 2 days to finish the book, and boy - hasn't Ron exceeded himself. Its fast paced, witty and totally worth the money. I thought of writing a better review (with some excerpts, Ron's permission duly taken, ofcourse) and thats later. But any of you looking for a quick, intelligent and interesting read, do buy it. Its at flipkart.com and infibeam.com and most probably at that Landmark store near you. She wasn't easy to capture, but isn't she worth it. Took this on an exhausting trek in Nepal. Had to click atleast 7-8 photos, before she became a little bolder and came out for this picture.

One of my favorite images of the last year and a half. Haven't tested any other DSLR, but can vouch for my D40. Never disappointed.

The New Year

Two years running, rain disturbed his solitude on this day. While the stars and moon brought light, it was not sufficient to remove the darkness surrounding his abode. As he looked up, he saw the face of Sana smiling at him. Just like she had done the first time that they had met. That was the last day of the year, five years back.

A happy new year on the farms. Families were against them, yet they kept meeting and got married. The world was beautiful, and despite all the hardships they survived. She was pregnant the last time he saw her.

Their family never forgave them, but Sana and he never thought it would be this.

As he looked up, he saw Sana again. This time with their daughter - almost a year old now. They spent the evening with him and Sana wished him a happy new year. He also wished them for a beautiful new year.

Then they left him. As the wind blew, it took with it the red roses that Sana always brought for him.

It had been two years since he was dead.
